LAKEWOOD — Third-ranked Kent Denver girls lacrosse took to the road Saturday morning and edged No. 6 Columbine 11-10.

Back-and-forth all game long between the Rebels and the Sun Devils, senior Emily Munro found the back of the net to lift the Sun Devils over the Rebels.

The biggest margin between the two teams all game was two goals. Karlie Hadden had a goal for Columbine to tie it up and that set up the golden opportunity for Munro to win it.

"It felt really good, we had a strong team win all together," said Kent Denver's Madi Wifall, who scored five goals. "We are really mentally strong overall, we lean on each other and when someone is down, we pick each other up."

"We need to work together and work hard towards our overall goal which is a state championship," Wifall continued. "We are going to go our to California and work even harder now."

Columbine will look to bounce back from this tough loss as they face No. 4 Denver East and No. 2 Cherry Creek next week.

Kent Denver has spring break this week, and the Sun Devils travel to California to get some work in and prepare for the rest of the season.
