Monarch is still the top dog of Colorado high school hockey. The Coyotes remain the No. 1 team in the CHSAANow.com hockey rankings, following an impressive 9-2 win over Cherry Creek on Saturday.

No new teams were added to this week's poll, but there were some shifts in positions due to the outcomes of last week's games.

Ralston Valley (No. 3), Dakota Ridge (No. 4) and Mountain Vista (No. 5) all jumped a spot from their positions in the previous set of rankings.

Steamboat Springs and Denver East also made jumps, but they each bettered their position by two spots rather than one. The Sailors come in at No. 7 and the Angels land at No. 8.

The rankings, voted upon by coaches and select media members, are the official polls of the Association. During the regular season, the poll will release each Monday.
